“No Sound is Innocent XIII” is a musical collaboration between
Blixa Bargeld, renowned for his work with Einstürzende Neubauten,
and Dror Feiler, the Swedish composer known for his experimental
and politically charged music. The performance combines voice,
reed instruments, electronics, and ensemble, with Bargeld’s epigrams
inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s "Kriegsfibel" set to Feiler’s music and
interpreted by Bargeld.

blixa bargeld
musician
German musician, writer, actor, and performance artist, best known as the frontman of the seminal industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten and for his long-standing collaboration with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. His distinctive vocal delivery, characterized by Sprechgesang and guttural sounds, combined with his experimental approach to sound and unconventional instrumentation, has made him a highly influential figure in avant-garde music. Bargeld's solo work and collaborations often explore themes of urban decay, alienation, and the deconstruction of traditional musical forms.

dror feiler
musician
Swedish composer, saxophonist, and artist known for his politically charged and experimental work. Born in Tel Aviv in 1951, Feiler moved to Sweden in 1973 to study music and later renounced his Israeli citizenship to become a Swedish citizen. His compositions often blend improvisation, electronics, and noise elements, reflecting his engagement with social and political issues. Feiler's performances are characterized by their intensity and willingness to challenge conventional musical boundaries, often incorporating multimedia and performative aspects. While he has composed visceral orchestral works for a variety of international ensembles such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (with Blixa Bargeld as vocal soloist), Zeitkratzer (the new music ensemble led by Berlin’s Reinhold Friedl), and Vienna-based Black Page Orchestra—he still sees improvisation as the foundation of his work.
